Sand and Surf
A couple of weeks ago, we went here:
This was the end of our first day:
And this is what the kids thought about our short trip:
Daddy was working hard on a super castle, but the kids were most interested in playing in the water.
I went to Rockport for vacations when I was a kid and my mother and her family also went to Rockport for vacations when she was little. It was and is a special place for our family, so it was appropriate that Clay had his first beach experience here. I'm glad I got him to the beach before he turned 3!
Both kids loved playing in the water. Sloane loved running on the beach and Clay thought it was HIGH larious when he got slapped in the face by the waves. He was nervous about being in the pool but just wanted to run out into the waves/ocean by himself. Go figure!

Our first day, we set out chicken necks for the crabs, went fishing on the pier, went swimming, and picked up seashells on "Shell Beach". The next morning, we actually made it to the beach.
This was the view from our condo.
We had fun painting all our shells.

We hope to visit again soon. I do miss the sound of the water. AHHHHHHHH.
