First Day of School 2011

This was Clay's first day of preschool with his teacher, Ms. Heather. She is so sweet. Clay had no problems on the first day and walked right in to play with the cool superheros. There are 10 boys in his class and 2 girls!!! Ms. Heather might have her hands full but I'm sure Clay is loving having some buds to hang with and discuss who has better super powers. :) I just noticed he is actually holding Spider Man in this picture. I had to beg him to stop playing for a second to snap this pic.
This is Sloane's second year in preschool and she was excited about starting up again and going 3 days. She is getting so big. Hopefully, the extra day will help prepare her (and mostly me) for the day she goes to Kindergarten. She has Ms. Connie this year who also taught her cousin when he was in preschool. He is a giant 4th grader now!
Getting her folder out of her backpack.

I promise you I tried to tame the hair but it didn't work out too well.

My babies are growing up....*sniff sniff* I just love them toooo much.

We will, We will ROCK YOU!

You got mud on yo' face
You big disgrace
Kickin' your can all over the place

Wheeee!!!!!!
The leavin's the hardest part.
Thought I might include a "before" shot....
My perfect afternoon....(and this happens ALL the time believe me in my perfect life with my perfect children) *ahemmm*:

Imagine the scene: The children are quietly playing sidewalk chalk on our back patio. There is no screaming or crying or whining as I make a wonderful and delicious homemade dinner for my family (OK so sue me b/c I actually don't even remember what I was making).

I was enjoying the quiet time to talk to Granny Kennedy on the phone and she remarked how quiet the kids were. I bragged, "Oh Yes, they are playing with chalk outside. " As I spoke the words, I realized the children actually had been really, really quiet for awhile. Hmmmm. Actually TOO QUIET. I think it's safe to say that mothers everywhere know what I'm talking about here. DUH. Wet footprint path...... Water hose....... MUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S.
The strange rash that popped up the next day WAS disturbing but who could wish away such happy faces?!
