Rain Clouds and the Pool

We knew there were dark clouds but the forecast said no rain chances til the afternoon. Thus, it was with high hopes we loaded up the car and headed to the strawberry fields for some u pick 'em action. About thirty seconds after we arrived, and before we could get the diaper bag out, the thunder rumbled LOUDLY and sprinkles started coming down to be followed by full blown rain. Oh well. We waited it out a little while in the shop and Sloane spotted very cute and very wet wagons in the distance. As you can see by this step by step pictorial... she politely ignored me telling her to stay under the porch (as it was still sprinkling and lightning-ing)and made her way out to the wagons. I thought it was pretty funny how she stopped and looked guiltily backwards and took these pics before I gathered her back. As you can see, she also amused herself by doing some dancing to the piped music :).

The other day on our walk we noticed a little bird on our special "rock lot" (we like to toss them in the "pond" which is really a big mud puddle that gets water when it rains). The little bird was very upset by our presence and flapped her wings and hopped at us. I figured she was protecting her nest from the mean big invaders (us) but it took awhile to find it. It was pretty camouflaged and I've never seen a nest like it. Have you?

A few days before the rains, it was all sunshine and we enjoyed a visit from Aunt Lauren and some time in our very own pool. Thanks for the visit LJ!

Not if she could help it! Ha. :) Hope your girlies are doing great. So sad I'm not going to get to come to Mary's shower and meet them!
